Castel Mimi is a winery with a secular history. It was founded in 1893 by one of the most prolific winemakers of the twentieth century – Constantin Mimi.
As in the old days, today, the winery in Bulboaca is considered one of the most modern in Moldova, having state-of-the-art equipment, necessary for the processing of grapes, fermentation of must, storage and bottling of wine, capable of highlighting the character specific to the Codru wine-growing area.
The winery has the largest park of barrels in Moldova, currently having around 1000 barrels, mainly of French oak, which are used in the ripening process. The quality of wines is often appreciated at the most important international competitions, such as Mundus Vini, Mondial du Bruxelles, Berliner, Asia & Portugal Wine Trophies, etc.according to sommilier no.1 of Europe in 2017-Raidmonds Tomsons: Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2012, Castel Mimi brand, is the most admirable wine from the Republic of Moldova.
Castel Mimi is, at the same time, one of the most visited tourist locations in the Republic Of Moldova. Daily, hundreds of guests are attracted to discover the history of the winery, to get acquainted with Moldovan wines and gastronomy in the only fine dining restaurant in the country, or to rest, enjoying the terraces and swimming pool inside the complex.
