The history of Milestii Mici winery starts from an old stone mine, located just 20 km from the city of Chisinau, the capital of the Republic of Moldova.
The extraction of limestone deposits on about 200 km of underground galleries favored the creation of ideal conditions for long – term storage of wines-with a relative humidity of 85-95% and constant temperature of 12-14 Lei C. thus was born the idea of creating a wine ripening space, at depths of 40-80 meters underground. During the 70s, huge oak barrels were assembled, in which carefully selected wines from the best vineyards of our country were stored.
Currently, Milestii Mici Winery specializes in producing, preserving and selling wines. A new branch developed vertiginously in the last 15 years is viti-vinivol tourism, which is due to the large flow of tourists who visit us every day.
Milestii Mici “golden collection” is undoubtedly the business card not only of the winery, but also of our country, being recognized in 2005 by Guinness World Records the largest collection of wines in the world. An absolutely impressive place, numbering about 1.5 million bottles of wine and located at a depth of 80 meters underground. The guests have the opportunity to rent Casas, in which they proudly store their wines. Here we also have a collection of exclusive old wines, part of the Cultural-National Heritage of the Republic of Moldova, hidden in a secret cave, which have survived in time and survived the Prohibition of the Soviet period.
